Tikiman News: NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GX2 Launched!

< -----MY BRAND NEW CARD!!! SWEET ACTION :)!!!!!
Last Monday (JUNE 5th) was a spectacular day for NVIDIA and for me :)! Nvidia releaesed their new performance king the the GeForce 7950 GX2. You can read the Nvidia 7950 GX Press Release here. Needless to say this is yet another fantastic product from Nvidia! The new card simply rocks with 2 GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) and an insane 1 gigabyte of video memory! Quite frankly the card is a beast, and to take it even further you can hook up two 7950 GX2 cards and run a Quad SLI (scalable link interface) setup. Imagine….4 graphics processors plus Intel’s Conroe this summer. Gaming Heaven!!! The performance offered by Nvidia’s new card is comparable to 2 7900 GT video cards in an SLI setup. If you would like to learn more about the mumbo jumbo which I speak of that is SLI, well then head over to Nvidia’s SLI ZONE.
To top it off the 7950 GX2 supports HDCP!

Dear Jordan it is for reasons such as SLI and Quad SLI that Nvidia truly shows that they are the innovation and performance leader! ![]()

Poor little Ati, just as they seem to try and close the gap, Nvidia turns on the turbo and leave them in the dust. The best thing about this card, Space. With all the add-ons that many of the better computers have, aftermarket audio (X-Fi), cooling solutions, video capture, and what ever else you can think of, it’s nice to see I can still have the power of a SLI configuration of two top end cards and have all of my pci slots too. so, who has the fastest card now? Jordan? Any comment?

I will just refer you back to my last post at http://www.sewellsupport.com/archives/a-challenge. My challenge was for the Tikiman to find “a card he thinks is the best for regular people (non gamers) and why.” Although this card is much faster, it is a card buit for gamers and graphics experts. Maybe I should redefine regular. By regular I mean a person that uses their computer for checking emails, watching movies, writing documents, surfing the internet, and doing their taxes. Thanks.

I don’t know why you would even need to ask that question, most onboard solutions can do all the things you mentioned, at least a Nvidia board can. I don’t think any non gamer really cares too much about video cards, unless they have another video intense need such as rendering or advance photo editing. So these regular people as you call them, just use what ever their POS dell/emachine/hp came with. And I would find it hard to believe that anyone who would read or look for info on the newest tech would be satisfied with anything sub par such as onboard video (or Ati for that matter).
