SW-9129While the oil industry does everything to ruin your summer vacation plans, Trackstick is out there liberating the not-as-free-as-we-thought world.

Trackstick is one of Sewell’s new products, and I have to say, its a lot more interesting than a lof of this PCMCIA bluetooth 12-port VOIP serial male to male mumbo jumbo we usually deal with.

The trackstick is a revolutionary way to see where a person, car, plane, boat, or whatever has been. Here is a map of when I was running from New York to Seattle Forrest Gump style (I got lost in New York as you can tell):

super trackstick with google earth

Well this isn’t really me, but this is an example of what you’d see if you’re using a Google Map with this device. Pretty cool, huh? You can use it in conjunction with the Hidden Teddy Bear Camera to monitor your teenager at home and on the road! It even tracks data, like miles per hour, so you know if your teenager has been driving too fast.

We currently carry two versions of the Trackstick: the Trackstick Pro and the Super Trackstick. The main difference is that the Trackstick Pro is a more permanent installation and is powered by the car’s battery or cigarette lighter, and the Super Trackstick is more portable and battery powered.

Do you have a new express card that you want to use on a different computer that doesn’t have an express slot, such as a desktop?

You can use our new USB to Express Card Adapter by SIIG (part number SW-8229) so that you can use your USB-based express card (54mm or 34mm) through a USB port. Express cards are USB-based or PCI express-based so make sure that your express card is USB-based or it will NOT work with this adapter.

This is great if you have a wireless modem express card that you want to plug into your desktop so that you can access the internet on your desktop using your express card modem.

Note: This adapter is Windows Vista compatible.

Do you have some PCMCIA cards laying around that you’ve been dying to use on your new laptop?

We’ve got a new solution that should be arriving in our warehouse on 6/15/2007. The new Duel Systems ExpressCard to PCMCIA adapter will solve your compatibility issues and save you from having to buy new cards. Check out the ExpressCard to PCMCIA adapter here.

Dual Systems adapter

This adapter plugs directly into the new ExpressCard slot (either the 34mm or the 54mm slot) that is coming on almost all new laptops. This adapter provides much higher reliability and compatibility than the currently available PCMCIA to USB adapters. The USB adapters are limited to compatibility with a select few Air Cards models. The Duel Systems adapter is compatible with a wide range of different card types (see list below).

Duel Systems PCMCIA Card Compatibility:

-32-Bit CardBus PC Cards
-16-Bit PCMCIA cards
-Wide Area Network cellular cards (Your wireless Air Cards)
-Memory cards
-802.11a/b/g wireless LAN cards
-Ethernet LAN cards
-ATA cards
-Port expansion cards
-Modem cards
-Also works with CompactFlash, Memory Stick, Smart Media, MMC and SD cards using suitable adapter (available separately)

Another benefit for some of you is that this adapter, unlike the USB adapters, is compatible with the Macintosh operating sytem (version 10.4.8). It is also compatible with Windows XP (no word for certain on Vista at this time).

The package includes:
-PCMCIA to ExpressCard Adapter
-Driver CD-ROM
-Install Guide
-1-year limited warranty and support card
-Product registration card

This item is currently available for pre-order. In order to get on the list to get some of the first available adapters you can place an order and it will be shipped as soon as we get it. You can do that from the product page for the ExpressCard to PCMCIA adapter here.

If you have any further questions about it feel free to give our tech support team a call!

Happy TiKi!!

PC vs Mac vs Linux

I don’t know if this picture is completely accurate. But I think it describes the jealousy of those other systems.

Well, many of you have been wondering about the great new sidebar at SewellDirect.com. The sidebar hasnt always been there. In fact, it only became a subject of interest when the Tikiman put his neck on the line and said “A sidebar might be fun.” Since that day, the sidebar has been improving. I have included a few basic pictures of what the page looked like without the sidebar, one of the beta versions, and a current view of our beuatiful sidebar.

< -----MY BRAND NEW CARD!!! SWEET ACTION :)!!!!!

Last Monday (JUNE 5th) was a spectacular day for NVIDIA and for me :)! Nvidia releaesed their new performance king the the GeForce 7950 GX2. You can read the Nvidia 7950 GX Press Release here. Needless to say this is yet another fantastic product from Nvidia! The new card simply rocks with 2 GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) and an insane 1 gigabyte of video memory! Quite frankly the card is a beast, and to take it even further you can hook up two 7950 GX2 cards and run a Quad SLI (scalable link interface) setup. Imagine….4 graphics processors plus Intel’s Conroe this summer. Gaming Heaven!!! The performance offered by Nvidia’s new card is comparable to 2 7900 GT video cards in an SLI setup. If you would like to learn more about the mumbo jumbo which I speak of that is SLI, well then head over to Nvidia’s SLI ZONE.

To top it off the 7950 GX2 supports HDCP!

HERE IS A LIST OF SOME OF THE 7950 GX2 REVIEWS FOUND ON THE WEB:

Dear Jordan it is for reasons such as SLI and Quad SLI that Nvidia truly shows that they are the innovation and performance leader! :)

The other day Lewis and I were talking about solutions for the technically challenged people of the world. He did a ton of research, performed several blind studies and found out that most people just need caster wheels.

caster wheels

Most people have this need even if they don’t realize it. You may think that they are just for peolpe who use intellinet server racks. That is one of the common uses of these wheels. But these wheels are more versatile than you might think. You could even make a fantastic skateboard with these wheels.

Hats off to you Lewis.

Well, you’ve all been wanting to watch your favorite internet romance (below) with your new PCMCIA wireless internet card on your computer that has no PCMCIA slots.

We’ve mentioned some of the different solutions in days gone by, but it’s time to pull it all together.

The Solutions:

If you have USB ports then you can either use a USB to 16 bit PCMCIA card slot adapter, or a USB to 32 bit PCMCIA card slot adapter. You will need to check the specs list for each of these products to see if your card is listed under the support cards list.

If your laptop has built in WiFi(802.11g or 802.11b) then you can also use a router that accepts PCMCIA cards. The Pheobus Wifi Router will do this.

Or you can use the EVDO WiFi hotspot Router.

If you are the lucky owner of a desktop PC then you can use a PCMCIA to PCI converter card.
